I'm not sure I understand your point, Ethan. In all of the examples you brought up, observation didn't match up with the math, leading to new math. In each case, the new math solved the dilemma. Kepler surpassed Copernicus; Newton surpassed Kepler; Einstein surpassed Newton. Each gave us a new and much better mathematical understanding of the universe, so doesn't it stand to reason that this will continue?
